This older cycle of early works, which has not lost its lustre for me even after all these years, is a visually poetized legend of St. Logotype. It is early post-millennial pop that speaks in a trans-generational language about the values of global society against a backdrop of mythological stories.
The work titled Fight Is Right brings to mind Paolo Ucello and his Saint George Fighting the Dragon; Skull Is Cool is strongly inspired by Arcimboldian canon mixed with the type of still-life known as vanitas; and Life Is a Lie is freely inspired by Verrocchio’s The Baptism of Christ.
